Reports coming in indicates that, there is currently a protest against the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye over his silence on some national issues currently troubling the country.
The Protest which is being led by veteran Nigerian musicians, Eedris Abdulkarim and Baba Fryo of the Denge Pose fame, is holding at a Lagos branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. They have lamented the seeming nonchalant attitude of the revered cleric as he has failed to speak up on the bad administration of President Buhari as they see it.
The Buhari-led administration has according to the group, negatively affected thousands of Christians who are being murdered on a regular basis. They also decried the continued detention of Leah Sharibu by the Boko Haram sect as they said Adeboye had failed to address any of these.
The protesters have therefore called on the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to suspend the Redeemed Christian Church of God General Overseer for his role in the whole fracas as he seems to be providing a covering for the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who is a member and a senior Pastor in the Redeemed church.
Recently, Pastor Adeboye spoke up on the scandal which had rocked the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, after he was accused by Busola Dakolo of having forceful intercourse with her while she was still a teenager.
Adeboye as he reacted seemed to have taken a slight dig at the COZA pastor as he said anyone committing sin under the guise of grace will eventually be exposed.
